For a long time, I lived with two separate dreams: I wanted to build a successful career, but I also deeply wanted to do something for society and the environment. Like many people, I believed these were two different paths. I thought I would have to wait until I was "successful" later in life before I could start an NGO or do charity work.
That mindset changed when I attended a masterclass by Professor Jasjit Singh (INSEAD Business school) on "Impactful Careers". I realized then that we don't have to choose between passion and purpose- we can integrate impact into any career by using our specific skills and leadership to solve the problems we care about.
I started Yuva Rise Global because I saw that so many of us are taught to admire changemakers as "superheroes," which makes us feel that creating positive change is too hard for "normal" people. This turns us into passive observers who blame the system instead of becoming part of the solution.
This initiative is my way of dismantling that Bystander Mindset. Our name comes from the Sanskrit word for youth (Yuva) and represents the journey of rising to our full potential. We are here to prove that whether you are an artist, an engineer, or a lawyer, you already have the tools to make a difference.
Impact isn't a retirement plan; it is a way of living with purpose, right now. Let’s build that bridge together.
